Theremustbeaninverterconnectedinthe1stsection,1A,tobeabletopilot.Duringthepowerupsequence,
beforepowerisconnectedtotheinverters,theCCMdoesacontinuitytesttoseeifitssection1Aribboncable
(J31onCCM)isconnected.
Causes & troubleshooting:
• Asthisisjustacontinuitytestitisveryunlikelytobeabadinverter.Mostlikelyapoorconnectionor
defectiveribboncable.
o CheckribboncableconnectionsatbothendsofINV1AtoCCMJ31(1A)cable.Makesureitisplugged
intoJ31,thetopconnector,ontheCCM.
o PlugadifferentinvertercableintoJ31,doesn’tmatterwhichoneforthistestaslongasit’splugged
intoaninverterontheotherend.Ifstillgives224,“Inverter1notfound”fault,it’sabadCCM.Oth-
erwiseit’stheribboncable.
225-230 Inverter Revision and CCM incompatible.
IfsometimeinthefutureweshouldmakeachangetotheinvertermakingitincompatiblewitholderCCMwe
haveincludedahardwarekeythatwouldchangetoindicatethis.Duringthepowerupsequence,beforepower
isconnectedtotheinverters,theCCMdoesacontinuitytesttodeterminewhatisthehardwarekeycongura-
tion.Thekeyuses3linesoftheCCMtoinverterribboncablewhicharenamedIS_ID_A,IS_ID_B,IS_ID_C(on
pins12,13&14)andchecksforcontinuitytoa4thlineOUTCOM(pin9).Thetestconsistsofapplyingvoltage
toOUTCOMandlookingforthatvoltagecomingbackonthe3IDpins.Thepresentcongurationhasall3
lines connected to OUTCOM so all 3 should be high.
Togetthe225-230codenowwhenwedon’thaveanyincompatiblerevisionswouldmostlikelybeabadcon-
nectionintheribboncablebetweentheCCMandtheinverteroradefectiveCCM(unlikely).
• Ontheinvertersectionswaptheribboncablewiththatofadifferentinvertersection.Iffaultremains
unchanged,stillcallsouttheoriginalinvertersection,theproblemiswitheitherribboncableorCCM.
• Ontheinverterendputtheribboncablesbackintheiroriginalpositions.Nowswapsuspectribbon
cablewithanotheroneontheCCM.Ifthefaultnowmovestoadifferentsectionit’stheribboncable.If
it remains with the original section the problem is the CCM.
231-236 Inverter VAC Mismatch.
Differentinvertermodulesaremanufacturedfor480VAC,380-415VAC&208-230VACoperationvoltages.There
isakey,calledinverterID,readthroughtheinverter’sribboncable,toidentifywhichvoltagerangetheinverter
isdesignedfor.Theunititselfiswireddifferentlyforthedifferentinputvoltagesandpartofthatincludesa
jumperatJ61ontheSystemBiasboardthatindicatestotheSystemBiasboardwhatvoltagetheunitiswired
to accept.
Atpoweron,theSystemBiasboardmeasurestheincomingvoltage,determineswhatinputvoltagerangeit
fallintoandsendsthatrangeinformationtotheCCM.BeforeApplingpowertotheinvertersbyturningon
theinputcontactors,theCCMchecksthateachconnectedinverterisofthecorrectvoltagematchingthatofthe
SystemBiasboard.TheinverterID’sarereadfromthelowestsectiontothehighestsoinallcasesifittruly
isawrongvoltageinverteritshouldcallouttheAsectionwhosecodeisreadrst.AVACmismatchofaB
section is likely another problem.
Possible causes:
• Wrongvoltageinverter(veryunlikelybuteasytocheck).
• SystemBiasboardwrongJ61jumper(unlikelybuteasytocheck)
• Defectiveinverter.
• RibbonCable
• CCM
• SystemBiasboarddefective.
