WARNING: DO NOT DRIVE OVER THE GARAGE DOOR SEAL FOR 24 HOURS.
To help the seal lay flat during installation, re-roll the seal in the opposite
direction, starting at the center of the coil.
1
Clean the area where the seal will be installed with rubbing alcohol and dry.
All dirt, water, mud, oil, and other debris must be removed where the seal will
be installed.
2
Lay the seal flat on the concrete where it will be installed. If the seal needs to be shortened or cut to
fit, you can use a hacksaw or utility knife to trim it down. For a rollup, sectional garage door, cut seal
so it butts up against the left and right sides of the garage door tracks. For a folding, hinge type door,
cut the door seal so that it butts up against the door jambs on the left and right sides.
3
Once trimmed, close the garage door. From the inside of the garage, lay the seal on the floor with the
ribbed area positioned toward the inside of the garage (Figure 1).
4
5
Slide the seal under the garage door toward the street until you achieve a snug fit.
6
Open the garage door once it is in place.
7
Using a pencil or chalk, draw a line on the concrete along each side of the seal (Figure 2).
8
Move the seal to expose the lines on the garage floor.
9
Cut the plastic tip o of the adhesive. Due to the thickness of the adhesive, the foil seal inside must
be fully punctured. Apply the adhesive to the floor in three ¼” strips. Apply one strip down the center,
and the other two strips ½” in from the outer edge (Figures 3 & 4).
10
Carefully position the seal between the lines on the concrete on top of the adhesive (Figure 4).
11
Firmly press the seal into position. You can wipe away excess adhesive with mineral spirits.
12
To prevent water from traveling around the seal, use extra adhesive to fill any gaps on the left and
right sides of the seal.
13
Close the garage door and leave it closed for 24 hours. This will maintain continuous pressure on the
seal and allow the adhesive to bond.
