We design refrigeration products. During design,
we keep in mind the words of architect Eliel
Saarinen: “Always design a thing by considering
it in its next larger context—a chair in a room,
a room in a house, a house in an environment,
an environment in a city plan.” This means that
we design refrigerators not only with food and
drink in mind; we also design with the eater and
drinker in mind. We design for people whose
lives—and hands—are full. We design with the
conviction that if it’s not simple, efficient,
seamless, or streamlined, it has no place in
your house.
At True, we talk about “the transfer,” that
place between where you are and where you
want to be. For a lot of our customers, that
means the point between where food and drink
are stored and where food and drink are enjoyed.
That point usually ends up being a combination
of narrow doorways, steps, or high-tension patio
doors. During our design process, we talked a
lot about those places, those transfer points.
We discussed the benefits, for example, of
refrigerating your marinating proteins right next
to your grill. We knew that we needed to make the
process of enjoying food simpler, so we made our
refrigerators to work as well on your custom patio
as in your kitchen, to stand both the test of time
and the test of “the transfer.”
So no more balancing act with a cutting board
full of cheese and two wine glasses in-hand.
No more hoping the dog (or the daughter’s
boyfriend) doesn’t turn the corner just as you’re
passing through with a plate full of porterhouse.
Eliminate the transfer; keep your food and drink
where you want to enjoy it, and for many of you,
