b) (Rechargeable) batteries
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used
for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
(rechargeable) batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable)
batteries.
(Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave
(rechargeable) batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow
them.
All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and
new (rechargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery
leakage and device damage.
(Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
re. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!

Operation
To ensure consistent testing conditions, it is recommended to test ESD wrist straps
in a setting with controlled temperature and humidity.
a) Inserting the battery
1. Turn over the product and slide up the battery compartment cover to open.
2. Insert one 9 V block battery into the battery compartment (3) and connect the battery cable
to the battery.
3. Close the battery compartment.
Follow the same steps to replace the battery. Replace the battery at least once a
year.
b) Connection
1. Place the tester (2) on a dry, clean and non-sensitive surface.
2. Test the continuity of the discharge cable (6) before connection to a continuity tester to
prevent damage to the cable.
3. Fasten the ESD wrist strap (7) to your wrist.
4. Plug the banana plug on the test cable (8) into the connection jack (1).
5. Connect the discharge cable on the wrist strap to the terminal on the test cable. Ensure
good contact!
c) Conducting a test
Replace the battery when the acoustic signal no longer sounds.
1. Press and hold down the button (5) using your hand.
2. The test result is indicated by means of indicator lamps (4) and an acoustic signal. See the
following table.
Indicator lamp Result Resistance Acoustic signal
Green GOOD OK 800 kΩ ≤ R ≤ 9 MΩ Yes
Red LOW Not OK R < 800 kΩ No
Red HIGH Not OK R ≥ 9 MΩ No
If the result is not satisfactory, there may be problems with the wrist strap or the discharge
cable. Conduct suitable tests to troubleshoot.
Caution! Too low a resistance poses a risk of personal injury.
