contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged (rechargeable)
batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable
protective gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable) batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave
(rechargeable) batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow
them.
• All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and
new (rechargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery
leakage and device damage.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
re. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Installation and startup
a) Attaching the control unit
Ensure that the IR receiver of the control unit is positioned in such a way that a
perfect reception of the control signals of the IR remote control is possible before
installation.
A direct line of sight between the IR LED of the IR remote control and the IR receiver
is advantageous however, not mandatory. The IR light (visible to the human eye) of
the IR remote control is reected on many surfaces.
Before nal installation of the control unit or the IR receiver check whether a function
is specied.
• The control unit can be screwed on via two eyelet loops found on the side of the housing.
It can also be attached with the cable tie or with double sided adhesive tape depending on
the installation site
Ensure that no cables or lines are damaged during drilling or screwing when screwing on
the control unit.
• Attach the IR receiver of the control unit to a suitable point, e.g. with a strip of adhesive tape
or a cable tie.
b) Connecting a RGB LED strip
The control unit can only be operated with RGB LED strips with joint anodes. For
instance the four connections of such LED strips are indicated with “+BGR” (the “+”
indicates the joint anodes). “VCC” is also specied on the LED strip instead of “+”.
The sequence of LED color information (“R” = red, “B” = blue, “G” = green) depends
on the LED strip.
Other LED strips should not be connected to the control unit. No LED strips with
integrated digital control can be operated with the control unit.
Only the LEDs and the series resistors may be located on the strip used, but no
other electronics.
If this is not observed there is the risk of destroying the LED strip and the control unit.
Connect the LED strip used by you to the four polar connections
of the control unit. Please ensure the correct polarity.
The four polar plug of the control unit is marked with an arrow symbol.
This arrow symbol indicates the joint anodes and the “+” connection for the LED strip.
If the correct colors do not light up later you must change the “R”, “B” and “G” cables
between the plug and the control unit and the LED strip used by you. Produce a
suitable intermediate space yourself.
c) Connecting the power supply to the control unit
• Connect the ange sleeves on the control unit to the power adapter used by you.
The inner contact of the ange sleeve must be connected to the positive pole (+) of the power
supply, the outer contact to the negative pole (-) of the power supply.
• The required voltage of the power supply is aligned to the LED strip used. However many
LED strips work at +12 V however, some also at +24 V.
Please also note the information about the LED strip used by you.
The LED strip is destroyed if the LED strip requires a voltage of 12V and you connect
a 24 V power supply to the control unit.
• The output current of the power supply required is aligned to the number of LEDs on the LED
strip and the power consumption of this.
d) Insert the battery into the IR remote control.
• Open the battery compartment at the rear of the IR remote control and insert a type
“CR2025” battery with the correct polarity (please note: plus/+ and minus/-). Close the battery
compartment.
The battery is possibly already found in the battery compartment. If a plastic
protective strip protrudes from the battery compartment completely pull this out. It
prevents the premature discharge of the battery.
• The battery should be changed if the range of the IR remote control decreases or if the
control unit no longer responds to the IR remote control.
