Do not mowat highgroundspeed,especiallyif a
mulchkit or grasscollectoris installed,
• For bestresultsit is recommendedthatthe firsttwo
lapsbe cutwiththe dischargethrowntowardsthe
center,Afterthefirst twolaps,reversethe directionto
throwthe dischargeto the outsidefor the balanceof
cutting,Thiswill givea betterappearancetothe lawn,
• Do notcut thegrasstoo short,Shortgrassinvites
weedgrowthandyellowsquicklyin dryweather,
• Mowingshouldalwaysbedonewiththeengineat full
throttle,
• Underheavierconditionsit maybenecessarytogo
backover thecut areaa secondtimeto get a clean
cut,
, Do NOTattemptto mowheavybrushandweedsand
extremelytall grass,Yourtractoris designedto mow

Selectmodelscomeequippedwitha mulchkitwhich
incorporatespecialblades,alreadystandardonthe
tractor,ina processof recirculatinggrassclippings
repeatedlybeneaththecutting deck,The ultra-fine
c@pingsarethenforcedbackinto thelawnwherethey
actas a naturalfertilizer,
Observethe followingpointsfor the bestresultswhen
mulching:
, Neverattemptto mulchif the lawnis damp,Wetgrass
tendsto stickto the undersideof the cuttingdeck
preventingpropermulchingof the c@pings,
• Do NOTattemptto mulchmorethan 1/3the total
heightof thegrassor approximately14/2 inches,
Doingso will causethe clippingsto clumpup beneath
the deckandnot bemulchedeffectively,

Maintaina slowgroundspeedto allowthegrass

Alwayspositionthe throttlecontrolleverin the FAST
(rabbit)positionandallow it to remaintherewhile
mowing,Failingto keepthe engineat full throttle

NOTE:Itis not necessaryto removethe dischargechute
tooperatethe mowerwith the mulchkit installed,
To operatethe cuttingdeckwithoutmulching,simply
removethe mulchplugby pivotingthe dischargechute
upandpullingthe plugoutward,Toreinstallplug:
Locatetworectangularholesonthe cuttingdecksurface,
1, Pivotthe dischargechuteupto accessthe deck
opening,SeeFigure8,
2, Insertthe mulchplug,aligningthe topedgeof the
plugwiththe deckas shownin the Figure8, Make
sure the notchesonthe plugarein theslots onthe
deckopening,
3, Lightlytap onthe plugwithyourhandto assurethat
the notchesfitsnuglyunderthe chutetabs,
Headlights
• On somemodels,the lampsareON wheneverthe
tractor'sengineis running,Onothermodels,the
lampsareON wheneverthe ignitionkeyis movedout
of the STOPposition,
, On all models,the lampsturnOFFwhenthe ignition
keyis movedto the STOPposition,
