WARNING:When removing the cutting

protect your hands with a pair of heavy
gloves or use a heavy rag to hold the
blade.
Periodicallyinspectthe bladeadapterfor cracks,
especiallyif you strikea foreignobiect,Replacewhen
necessary,Followthe stepsbelowfor bladeservice,
1, Disconnectsparkplugwire fromsparkplug,Turn
moweron itsside makingsurethatthe airfilterand
the carburetorarefacingup,
2, Removethe boltand the bladebellsupportwhich
holdthe bladeandthe bladeadapterto the engine
crankshaft,Figure5=2,
3, Removebladeandadapterfromthecrankshaft,

4, The bladecan be sharpenedwitha file oron agrind=
ingwheel Do notattemptto sharpenthe bladewhileit
is stillonthe mower,
Whensharpeningthe blade,followthe originalangle
of grind, Grindeachcuttingedgeequallyto keepthe
bladebalanced,
5, To testfor balance,removebladeand balanceon
a roundshaftscrewdriver,Removemetalfromthe
heavysideuntil it balancesevenly,
WARNING:An unbalanced bladewill
causeexcessive vibration when rotating
at high speeds. It may causedamage to
mower and could breakcausing personal
injury.
6, Lubricatetheenginecrankshaftandthe innersurface
of the bladeadapterwithlightoil Slidethe blade
adapterontotheenginecrankshaft,
7, Placethe bladeonthe adaptersuchthatthe side
of the blademarked"Bottom"(orwith partnumber)
facesthe groundwhenthe moweris in the operating
position,Makesurethatthe bladeis alignedand
seatedon the bladeadapterflanges,
8, Placebladebellsupporton the blade,Alignnotches
on the bladebellsupportwithsmallholesin blade,
9, Replacehexbolt andtightenhex boltto torque:450
in, Ibs,min,,600 in, Ibs,max,
Toensuresafeoperationof yourmower,periodically
checkthe bladeboltfor correcttorque,

to rust-proofthe equipment,Usinga lightoil orsilicone,
coattheequipment,especiallycablesandall moving
partsof yourlawnmowerbeforestorage,
