IRIS Events
The IRIS modules react on events. Every event can have one, or more, actions that are executed
when the event occur. For example if a digital input goes high the module can generate and send a text
message and set a digital output low. All events and actions can be confi gured.
Message events
Messages can come from both the radio and the serial interface. The received message is compared
with pre-defi ned text strings and, depending on if there is a match or not, different events are activated.
The pre-defi ned text string can be both exact phrases and part of phrases with wildcard – “*” replaces
multiple characters and “?” replaces a single character. A no-match is also an event that can activate
actions.
I/O events
An I/O event occurs when the I/O status matches a pre-defi ned mask. The I/O status is the digital
values of the inputs, outputs and fl ags of unit. Analogue inputs are represented by two digital values
that indicate where the signal level is compared to the upper and lower limit. Digital inputs and outputs
are represented by the actual values. Flags are used to for example indicate that an event has
occurred.
Timer and counter events
There are four timers and four counters available. A timer event occurs when the timer reaches it’s limit
and a counter event occurs when the counter reaches it’s limit or goes down to zero.
Communication events
It’s possible for the unit to detect events in the communication both on the radio and on the serial
interface - a received package, a received package with errors, an acknowledge receipt, a not-
acknowledge receipt, no receipt received and a unit that goes online or offl ine.
