IRIS Radio
The IRIS radio uses the 433 MHz band and reaches over 1000 meters with a free line of sight.
Secure communication is important. Each IRIS unit has it’s own unique identifi cation number and to
avoid disturbance its possible to adjust the frequency. When a message is received correctly a receipt
is sent back to the sending unit to assure the communication. If a message is not acknowledged the
message is retransmitted. The sending unit tries a pre-defi ned number of times before giving up.
IRIS Interfaces
Different types of IRIS modules use different interfaces to communicate, beside the radio.
I/O
An IRIS module can have up to six analogue or digital inputs and four digital outputs. The inputs can
be confi gured as either digital or analogue. The input has an upper and a lower limit and if it’s analogue
also the possibility to set scale factor, offset and a hysteresis.
Serial communication
An IRIS module with a serial interface uses either RS-232 protocol or RS-485 protocol depending on
the driver circuits used.
