The general features of the Multi-Cassette Cash Dispenser family are described in Table 2-1:
NEW FEATURES
The version 4.1 release of terminal operating software provides significant enhancements to the
capabilities of the 9650-series Cash Dispenser. These new features are summarized in the follow-
ing paragraphs.

Improved Monochrome Graphic Display Support
The rendering of gray-scale images has been improved significantly. The availability of a more
life-like rendering of monochrome graphics can make the use of these images a more appealing
option in certain applications.

• High-quality, low-cost multi-cassette operation.
• UL 291 Business Hours Service (model 9650) or Level 1 (model 9670)
• 24-Hour Service models available.
• Uses an ordinary dial-up telephone line, instead of an expensive leased line.
• 2400 bps (bits-per-second) modem standard (optional 14400 and 33600 bps modems
available).
• Cassettes hold appoximately 3000 new notes (actual capacity depends upon currency
quality and thickness) each for maximum time between cash replenishment cycles.
• Friction-feed cash dispensing mechanism stores rejected notes in a separate cassette
for safekeeping and ease of accountability.
• High-capacity electronic journal can store up to 2045 of the most recent
transactions for later printout.
• Intuitive, user-friendly keyboard and display interface.
• 320 x 240 dot resolution gray-scale (16 shades of gray) backlit Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD). Optional 256-Color LCD display support available.
• Flush-mounted magnetic dip-style card reader.
• Fixed-head thermal printer designed for quiet operation.
