e number of rejects can be directly inuenced by the technique used to load the cassette and the quality of the
currency. Notes loaded into the mechanism cassettes must be in t condition if a high level of performance is
expected from the unit.
Fit notes are dened as those that do not possess any of the defects listed below:
— Adhesive or sticky substances on surface of note
— Tears extending more than 1/2” from edge of the currency
— Tape on the surface of note
— Staples, pins, or any other foreign object attached to note
— Corner folds greater than 1/2” on either axis
— Two or more notes joined by any means
— Excessively crumpled or crinkled notes
— Holes or missing sections in the currency
Use the following procedures to prepare currency before inserting into the note cassette.
— Remove band around each bundle of notes
— Remove any foreign objects, such as paper clips, pins, crumbs, etc.
— Remove torn or worn notes
— Straighten any folded notes
**Note**
For new or uncirculated currency, notes must be separated before being inserted into cassette. Using a note
counter is highly recommended; however, ipping through each bundle of notes in both directions at each end,
or striking each bundle against a hard surface may suciently separate currency.
