CURRENCYHANDLING
USED NOTES
• Adhesive or “sticky” sub-
stances on the surface of the
paper.
• Tears extending more than
1/2” from the edge of the cur-
rency.
• Tears, holes, or missing sec-
tions in the body of the cur-
rency.
• Tape on the surface of the cur-
rency used for repairing,
patching, or any other
purpose.
• Staples, pins, or any other for
eign body attached to the
notes.
• Corner folds of a size greater
than 1/2” on either axis.
• Two or more notes joined by
any means.
• Excessively crumpled or
crinkled.
NEW OR UNCIRCULATED NOTES
• All the conditions listed for
used notes.
• Excessive bowing due to con
ditions of packing and stor-
ing.
• New or uncirculated currency
must be “burst” and fully sepa-
rated prior to loading into
cassettes.
PREPARING NOTES
Use the following procedures to pre-
pare notes before inserting them into a
note cassette.
USED NOTES
• Remove the band around each
bundle of notes.
• Remove foreign objects (e.g.
pins, paper clips, crumbs, etc).
• Remove torn or very worn
notes.
• Straighten any folded notes.
