ESCRIPTION:
The MAC MASTER KEY requires the entry of a 16-character key in two
places: a LEFT KEY BLOCK and a RIGHT KEY BLOCK. The key con-
sists of some combination of the digits 0-9 and the Hexadecimal (“Hex”)
characters A-F.
The number of keys provided by the processor will determine the level of
encryption provided by the MAC MASTER KEY. Note the following:
• SINGLE DES. The processor will provide a SINGLE, 16-character
key. Enter this key in BOTH the LEFT and RIGHT KEY BLOCKS.
• TRIPLE DES (3DES). The processor will provide TWO, UNIQUE
16-character keys, designated as LEFT and RIGHT KEYS. Enter each
key in the applicable KEY BLOCK. For security purposes different
individuals may be responsible for entering each key part. Follow all
applicable precautions to protect the security of the KEYS!
