II. General Description The Triplett SoniChek MC is a compact Sound Level Meter with C Weighting. Its ergonomic handsized design is convenient and practical. Features include a large auto backlit LCD display, MIN and MAX memories, Auto Power Off, tripod mounting thread, and a non-slip rubber grip. The C weighting makes the SoniChek MC ideal for testing sound levels in home theaters, music performances, car audio, and other situations requiring broad frequency response.

Measurement Preparation 1: Install New Battery Remove the battery cover on the back of the SoniChek MC and observing proper polarity, install one 9V Battery. 2: Battery Replacement When the battery voltage is low, “BAT” appears on the LCD. Replace battery. VI. Operating Precautions 1: Air moving across the microphone causes noise that the SoniChek MC measures. Although the air movement may be silent to the user, it is ‘heard’ by the SoniChek MC.

Doing so may produce inaccurate results or damage the instrument. 3: Keep microphone dry and avoid shock and vibration. 4: When not in use, remove the battery and store in a protected location with moderate temperatures and humidities (see Specifications).

Triplett One Year Limited Warranty Triplett warrants instruments and test equipment manufactured by it to be free from defective material or workmanship and agrees to repair or replace such products which, under normal use and service, disclose the defect to be the fault of our manufacturing, with no charge within one year of the date of original purchase for parts and labor. If we are unable to repair or replace the product, we will make a refund of the purchase price.
Triplett One Year Limited Warranty Cont. which have had the serial numbers altered, defaced, or removed. Accessories, including batteries and fuses, not of our manufacture used with this product are not covered by this warranty. To register a claim under the provisions of this warranty, contact Triplett’s Customer Service Department for a Return Authorization Number (RMA) and return instructions. No returned product will be accepted without an RMA number.
