General wireless connection information
The Juno series handheld has an integrated wireless LAN radio compliant with IEEE
802.11 b/g and an integrated Bluetooth radio. The Juno SC and Juno SD handhelds also
contain an integrated cellular modem.
To use the wireless LAN, Bluetooth radio, or cellular modem, you need to turn them on
(see Turning on and turning off the integrated radios below).
Turning on and turning off the integrated radios
You can use the Wireless Manager application to turn on and turn off the Juno series
handheld’s wireless LAN radio and/or Bluetooth radio (see page 82), and the Juno SD
handhelds phone functionality.
You can use the Modem Control application to turn on and turn off the Juno SC
handheld’s cellular modem (see page 84).
You can also turn on or turn off the Bluetooth radio from within the Bluetooth
application (see Turning on and turning off the Bluetooth radio from within the
Bluetooth application, page 86).
To make the Juno series handheld visible to other Bluetooth-enabled devices and
enable them to connect, see page 87.
Using the Wireless Manager
You can use the Wireless Manager application to turn on and turn off the Juno series
handhelds wireless LAN radio and/or Bluetooth radio, and the Juno SD handhelds
phone functionality. You can turn on and turn off any of the radios at the same time, or
control each individually.
To open the Wireless Manager, do one of the following:
Tap the Wi-Fi icon or the Bluetooth icon on the Today screen.
Tap the Connectivity icon in the title bar and then tap Wireless Manager.
Note – the connectivity icon varies depending on the Juno series handheld model (Juno SC
or Juno SD) and the type of connection. See Status indicators, page 41.
Tap / Settings / Connections / Wireless Manager.
Turn on the wireless LAN radio and/or Bluetooth radio to be able to connect to other
devices or networks.
Turn on the Juno SD handheld’s phone functionality to be able to send and receive text
messages, and make and receive voice calls.
Turn off the wireless LAN radio, Bluetooth radio, and/or phone (Juno SD handheld
only) to prevent the handheld from sending or receiving wireless signals.

Tip – To conserve power, turn off the wireless LAN radio and/or the Bluetooth radio when
not in use.
