Removing/swappingthebattery
Ifyourelyonbatterypowerforalongperiodoftime,considerpur chasing anextendedlife
batteryoranadditionalstandardbatterytouse forbackup.
Thetabletcomputerisfittedwithaninternalbatterythatmaintainsnormaloperationfora
reasonableperiodoftimewhiletheexternalbatteryischanged.However,Trimblestill
recommendsthatyousaveallworkbeforeyoureplacetheexternalbattery.
Toreplacethebatterywithabatterythathasbeenchargedoutsideofthedevice,dothefollowing:
1. DisconnectthetabletcomputerfromtheACpower.
2. Unlockthebatterycompartment,andremovethebattery.
3. Insertthereplacementbattery,andlockthebatteryinplace.
YouMUSTlockthebattery;thebatterychargestatusontheDesktopdisplaysanerrorifthe
batteryisnotlockedin,and,ifthetabletcomputeristurnedoff,itwillnotturnon.
Checkingthechargelevelofthebattery
Tocheckthelevelofbatterycharge,ontheDesktop,taptheBatteryiconintheNotificationsarea
atthebottomrightofthescreen.
Powermanagementandpower‐savingtips
Thepowermanagementfeaturehelpsreducepowerconsumptionextendingbatterylife.
TheTrimbleKenaitablet computersupportsACPI(AdvancedConfigurationandPowerInterface)
forpowermanagement.Powersupplytodifferentcomponentsiscontrolledonanas‐needed
basis.Thisallowsmaximumpowerconservationandperformanceatthesametime.
TheWindowsoperatingsystemcomeswithpre‐definedPowerOptions(Balanced,PowerSaver,
ECOmode,andHighPerformance)foryoutoselect.ToaccessPowerOptions:
1. OntheDesktop,flicktheright‐handsideofthescreentothelefttodisplaytheCharmbar.Tap
ControlPanel.
2. TapPowerOptions.(Or,inCategoryview,tapSystemandSecurity/PowerOptions).
Bydefault,theKenaitabletcomputerisinBalancedMode.
