 Flashingamber‐tabletcomputerison,andthebatterypowerislow.

 Off‐tabletcomputerisoff,batteryisfully charged /ismissing.
Turningyourtabletcomputeronandoff
Ifyouneedtoconnectanyperipheraldevicestoyourtabletcomputer,dothisbeforeyouturn
onthetabletcomputer.
Toturnonthetabletcom puter:
1. MakesurethatthetabletcomputeriseitherconnectedtoACpowerorthebatteryischarged.

2. PressthePowerbutton.Thedevicerunsthroughthestartupsequenceandpowersup.
ThePowerLEDindicatorshowsthreedifferentstates:
 Solidblue‐tabletcomputeristurnedon

 Flashingblue‐tabletcomputerisinsleepmode

 Off‐tabletcomputeristurnedoff.
Toturnoffthetabletcomputer,doanyofthefollowing:
 OntheStartscreen,tap[powericon]/Shutdown.

 On the Desktop screen, tap and hold [the Windows icon] at the bottom left corner of
thescreen,thentapShutdownorsignout/Shutdown.

 From either screen, flick the right‐han d side of the screen to the left to display the Charm
bar.TapSettings,thentapPower[icon]/Shutdown.
Usingthetouchscreen
Thetabletcomputer'stouchscreenisprotectedduringtransportbyatransparentfilm.Remove
theprotectivefilmfromthetouchscreentobeginusingthetabletcomputer.Trimblerecommends
thatyoualwaysuseascreenprotectorwhenusingthetabletcomputer.See

Useonlyyourfinger,thecapacitive stylus,orsuitableconductiveglovestointeractwiththe
touchscreen.Donotusesharp,pointedobjectsorroughglovesonthetouchscreen.Theseobjects
mayscratchthescreen.
Donotplaceanyobjectsonitssurfaceanddonotpressdownstronglywithsharp‐pointedorhard
objectsthatmayleavemarks
Usethestylusonlyfortouchingthescreen.Usingitforanyotherpurposemaydamagethe
stylusandresultinscratchesonthescreen.
Thecapacitivestyluselectromagneticinductionandmaynotworkproperlynearstrongelectrical
fieldsormagneticfieldssuchasnearAMradiobasestationsorrelaystationantennas,ornearCRT
