Trimble R7 GPS Receiver Operation
3.2 Setup Guidelines
Consider the following guidelines when setting up the Trimble R7
receiver.
32.1 Environmental conditions
Although the Trimble R7 receiver has a waterproof housing, reasonable
care should be taken to keep the unit dry. Avoid exposure to extreme
environmental conditions, including:
• Water
• Heat greater than 65° C (149° F)
• Cold less than –40° C (–40° F)
• Corrosive fluids and gases
Avoiding these conditions improves the receiver performance and
long-term reliability.
32.2 Sources of electrical interference
Avoid the following sources of electrical and magnetic noise:
• Gasoline engines (spark plugs)
• Televisions and computer monitors
• Alternators and generators
• Electric motors
• Equipment with DC-to-AC converters
• Fluorescent lights
• Switching power supplies
