USE OF THE HOB The control pane! located to the right hand side of the hob has a visual representation of four plates by each of the four control knobs {o indicate which plate the knob controls. To activate any of the plates turn the appropriate control knob anti-clockwise from the zero position to the desired heat setting. To switch off, turn the control knob clockwise to the zero position.
Saucepans Saucepans for use on solid plates should have several characteristics: They should be fairly heavy duty. They should fit the heat area exactly, or be slightly larger for efficient use, NEVER smaller. They should have a flat base to ensure good contact with the plate (Fig. 11). This is particularly important when using pans for high temperature frying or pressure cooking. Ensure pans are large enough io avoid liquids being split onto the plates.
