Pipe Sealant Instructions
Loctite 567 Sealant Instruction
Installation Procedure
1. Clean male and female threads of all connec-
tions along with mating fitting with a light wire
brush.
2. Make sure all thread surfaces are dry and free of
debris.
This sealant has a 20 minute curing time. ANY
PIPE ORIENTATION ADJUSTMENTS MUST
TAKE PLACE WITHIN 5 MINUTES AFTER
ASSEMBLY OF PARTS. Piping connections will
leak if this pipe orientation adjustment time is
exceeded.
3. Apply a continuous bead of Loctite 567 thread
sealant to male threads starting one thread from
the end of the pipe and finish 3 threads later. The
bead should be fully and continuously applied in
the groove of the threads, 360° around male
threads.
4. Assemble parts wrench tight. Do NOT over-
tighten, as this may deform the female portion
of the connection.
5. If Teflon tape is used (not recommended) it
must be used in conjuction with the Loctite 567
sealant. Apply tape first, followed by the loctite
sealant.
6. Wait 20 minutes after assembly of parts
before pressurizing the system to allow
sealant to cure.
