Upgrade Considerations
To illustrate how ServerProtect can be upgraded on your network, let us look at these
following scenarios:
One Information Server Managing One Normal Server
One Information Server Managing Several Normal Servers
One Information Server Managing One Normal Server
If your network only includes one Normal Server managed by an Information Server,
you can use the setup program to upgrade both the Information and Normal Server.
See Installing ServerProtect on page 2-9.
Note: To upgrade from the setup program, you must install the full ServerProtect package.
One Information Server Managing Several Normal Servers
If your network has an Information Server managing groups of Normal Servers
(ServerProtect domains), first install the full ServerProtect Package (IS, NS, and
MC). See Installing the Complete ServerProtect Package on page 2-9. After, the
installation is complete, use the Management Console to upgrade the Normal
Servers. See Upgrading from the Management Console.
Upgrading from the Management Console
You can upgrade existing ServerProtect 4.x or ServerProtect for NetWare 3.x Normal
Servers to the latest release of ServerProtect through the ServerProtect Management
Console.
