Upgrading ServerProtect Software
ServerProtect supports system upgrades and updates from previous versions. Most of
the configuration settings of older versions can be migrated to the newer version.
Your original installation path will also be preserved.
The ServerProtect setup program can detect the existence of a previous version of
ServerProtect and either upgrade or update it.
To clarify the terms upgrade and update please see the following:
• Upgrade: Involves upgrading from a major version of ServerProtect to another
major version, for example, upgrading from ServerProtect 4.x to ServerProtect 5.x.
• Update: Involves upgrading selected components from a major version of
ServerProtect to a minor version, for example, upgrading from ServerProtect 5.35
to ServerProtect 5.56.
