1.4 Installing the TR-WMX-5.8
The TR-WMX-5.8 can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. Before you install the
unit, determine whether the TR-WMX-5.8 will be mounted horizontally or vertically.
The TR-WMX-5.8 must be installed by a trained professional, value added
reseller, or systems integrator who is familiar with RF cell planning issues and
the regulatory limits defined by the FCC for RF exposure, specifically those
limits outlined in sections 1.1307.
The following procedure describes how to install the TR-WMX-5.8 Outdoor Subscriber
Unit.
1. Mount the TR-WMX-5.8 at the desired location.
2. Attach the boot cover, L bracket, and U bolt to the TR-WMX-5.8, as shown in Figure
1-2.

3. To power the TR-WMX-5.8:
Connect one end of a Category 5 Ethernet LAN cable to the TR-WMX-5.8 Ethernet
port.
Connect the other end of the cable to the port labeled CPE on the supplied PoE
adapter.
Connect the supplied AC adapter to the PoE adapter.
Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. The TR-WMX-5.8 performs its self-
test for about 30 seconds. Then the TR-WMX-5.8 LEDs show the status of the unit
(see section 1.6.2).
Do not connect a device other than the TR-WMX-5.8 to the CPE port. Network
