Trans-Dapt TBI Spacer kits fit 1986 to 1995 4.3L V6, 5.0L 5.7L & 7.4L V8 GM
trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoe SUV’s and Hot Rods with a Throttle Body
Fuel Injection system.
1. Remove the fuse marked from the fuse panel! Start the
engine and allow it to run until the fuel supply remaining in the lines is
used. When the engine stalls, turn the key to the “off” position and
turn the key to the “run” position until
the installation is completed.
2. Remove the air cleaner and the spacer ring from the TBI unit.
3. Mark and remove all vacuum lines. Remove all electrical connections and
linkage with care, be sure not to loose any clips or hardware, you will
need to reuse them later.
4. Remove the fuel lines from the rear of the TBI (catch any remaining fuel
with a rag). CAUTION: There may be pressure remaining in the fuel lines!
5. Remove the TBI mounting bolts and pull the TBI from the intake. Clean
any old gasket material from both surfaces.

disconnect the battery. DO NOT
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.
To avoid any engine damage, be careful not to drop anything down
into the intake manifold.
Please read instructions thoroughly before installing this kit. Basic
automotive skills and tools are required to properly perform this
installation. If in doubt, take the kit to a certified repair shop for proper
installation. The kit, in most cases, takes approximately one hour to install.

To reduce the chance of kinking or rupturing fuel lines, the use of
Trans-Dapt part #2458 fuel line extensions is highly recommended.
1. Install the new gasket on to the intake manifold, then the Trans-Dapt TBI
Spacer. Place the second gasket on the TBI spacer and finally the TBI
unit. Using the longer bolts and washers included in the kit, bolt down the
TBI (on 1993 to 1995 models, use the two tapped head bolts in the rear
TBI mounting holes, the air cleaner bolts screw in to them).
Torque the bolts to 12 ft-lbs.
