Quick Installation Guide 3.1 Configure PC After you directly connect your PC to the TD-W8951ND or connect your adapter to a Hub/Switch which has connected to the modem router, you need to configure your PC’s IP address. Follow the steps below to configure it. Step 1: Click the Start menu on your desktop, right click My Network Places, and then select Properties (shown in Figure 3-1).

This option is typically used for DSL services.

Connect on demand is dependent on the traffic.

The LAN IP address is private to your internal network and cannot be seen on the Internet. • IP Address: Enter the modem router’s local IP Address, then you can access to the Web-based Utility via the IP Address, the default value is 192.168.1.1.

IGMP (Internet Group Multicast Protocol) is a session-layer protocol used to establish membership in a multicast group. The ADSL ATU-R supports both IGMP version 1 (IGMP v1), IGMP v2 and IGMP v3. Select “Disabled” to disable it. • ¾ IGMP Snoop: Enable the IGMP Snoop function if you need.

There are two options, “20 MHz” and “20/40 MHz”. If bigger bandwidth is selected, device could transmit and receive data with higher speed.
