Label the Traveler wires in the two wallboxes.

Note: Apply the same label to the same color wires in two wallboxes. For

example, label the red

wire as Traveler 1. And do not cross Traveler 1

and Traveler 2 wires between two wallboxes in later connection.

Disconnect all wires from the two dumb switches and connect them to the Smart 3-Way Dimmer as below.

Wire Your 3-Way Dimmer

Turn o the circuit breaker. Then remove the two

wallplates. Your dumb switches might look like this.

Line (Live/Hot): Usually black. One end is connected to the circuit

breaker, the other to your FIRST 3-Way switch.

Load: Usually black. One end is connected to the light xture, the

other to your SECOND 3-Way switch.

Traveler 1 / 2: Usually one is black and the other is red.

Neutral: Usually a bundle of white wires, not connected to the dumb

switch. They may be folded up in the very back.

Ground: Usually green or copper.

Get to know the wires.

Two Traveler wires

(Opposite each other with

the same color screws. )

Line/Load wire

(Black. Line and Load wires

are in dierent boxes. )

3) Label the other wire in the other wallbox as Load wire. This is

the wallbox for the satellite dimmer.

Identify Line and Load wires in the two wallboxes.

1) Turn on the circuit breaker. Use a voltage detector to identify

the energized wire (Line wire).

Turn o the circuit breaker and label the Line wire. This is the

wallbox for the main dimmer.

Take care to avoid electric shocks.

Load wireLine wire

Label the Ground and Neutral wires.

Only disconnect the Line/Load wires from the two

dumb switches, then cover them with provided wire

nuts for safety.

What happens if Traveler 1 of main dimmer is connected to Traveler 2 of satellite dimmer?

Smart Dimmers won’t work. Wi-Fi LED will blink red rapidly. Swapping Traveler 1/2 wiring positions of the satellite dimmer

will solve the problem.

Set Up Your 3-Way Dimmer

Tap the button in the app. Select Smart Switches

then Smart 3-Way Dimmer. Then follow the app

instructions to set up your smart dimmer.
