Symptom Cause Correction
The player does not start
playback.
No disc is inserted. Insert a disc.
An unplayable disc is inserted. Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc type, colour system and region
number.)
The disc is inserted upside down. Insert the disc with the playback side down.
The disc is not inserted securely. Insert the disc securely in the disc holder.
The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
The parental lock function is set. Change the parental lock level.
Playback does not follow the
course of the disc’s program.
It is in the repeat playback mode, memory
playback, etc.
These operations may prevent a proper progression of the contents.
Buttons do not work. Power supply fluctuations or other
abnormalities such as static electricity may
interrupt correct operation.
Turn the power off then turn it on. Or disconnect the AC adapter and
insert it into the wall outlet again.
The remote control does not
work properly.
The remote control is not pointed at the
remote sensor of the player.
Point the remote control at the remote sensor of the player.
The remote control is too far from the
player.
Operate the remote control within about 3 m (9.9 feet).
The batteries in the remote control are
exhausted.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
The player’s remote sensor is exposed to a
strong light source such as direct sunlight
or other illumination.
Avoid the player from being exposed to a strong light source.
