E.B.L.
Default setting: On
You can adjust the black level of the output signal.
Off: Normal black level.
On: To display deeper, richer black than in
"Standard" setting.
Use the A/v keys to select E.B.L..
Use the < / k keys to select an option.
Press RETURN to exit the Picture Menu.
Note:
• The E.B.L Function only works when playback
DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R or
Video-CDs.

DRC
Default setting: STD (STANDARD)
DRC(Dynamic Range Control) is also called "Midnight
Mode" which reduces the variations between loud and
soft sounds in DVD movies. This lets you turn the
volume down to hear softer sounds and dialog.
Use the < / k keys to select TV, STD or MAX.
Press RETURN to exit the Audio Menu.
TV: Dynamic range is reduced.
STD: Full dynamic range is reduced.
MAX: Full dynamic range is maintained.
Digital Output Mode
Default setting: PCM
Determines the audio format output by the HDMI and
Optical Digital Audio Output. When playing a Dolby
Digital 5.1 Soundtrack, set the setting to Bitstream to
output the coded digital signal to a Digital Receiver with
a Dolby Digital 5.1-channel decoder. If your receiver
is not capable of decoding a Dolby signal, use the
PCM setting. When playing CDs, set the setting to
PCM to output a stereo signal on the Digital Output.
Use the _ / !' to select Bitstream PCM.

Virtual Surround
This lets you playback discs with acoustic effects
having greater depth and presence even when using
only two speakers.
Off:Virtual surround effect not activated.
On:Virtual surround effect activated.
Notes
• This function is only activated when playing back
a disc recorded with Dolby Digital.
• This function is only activated when "Digital output
mode" is set to "PCM" if the Optical output of this
DVD recorder is connected to an amplifier or
similar device.
• When the virtual surround effect is activated, Dolby
Progressive Sound may be deactivated or sound
differenty than usual.
• When the virtual surround effect is activated, the
volume may sound differently than usual.
• Set "Virtual Surround" to "Off" if the audio sounds
distorted.

SAP
SAP(Second Audio Program broadcast) is separate
audio program, usually broadcast in a second
language with the main language.
Off:The main sound is received.
On:SAP sound (second language)is received.
Use the < / !' keys to select "Off" or "On".
Press RETURN to exit the Audio Menu.
