Stereo reception with the built-in analogue tuner
The TV’s built-in tuner can detect and receive NICAM stereo broadcasts automatically.
Note:
Bad reception can cause
disturbance to stereo sound.
In some cases, NICAM
stereo sound may not be
received correctly. In the
case of two-channel sound
reception, press AUDIO
SELECT to switch to a
sound channel with better
audio quality.
NICAM stereo sound reception

Press MENU SETUP to display the Main Menu
screen.
Press to select Sound, and then press
ENTER/CH LIST .

Select NICAM, and then press to select
Auto or Off.
Select Off if you do not want to receive NICAM
sound.

Press EXIT/CANCEL to return to the normal screen.
The following types of broadcast are possible with NICAM transmissions:
• NICAM ST: Illuminates for approx. 4 seconds when a
NICAM STEREO broadcast signal is received.
• NICAM M1: Illuminates for approx. 4 seconds when a
NICAM MONO A broadcast signal is received.
• NICAM M1/ M2: Illuminates for approx. 4 seconds
when a NICAM MONO A and MONO B broadcast
signals are received.
• NICAM OFF: Appears for approx. 4 seconds when a
NICAM signal is received and the NICAM Off option is
selected.
