USB cable connection
You can connect the Product to a destination device by the supplied USB cable. The Product connected by the
USB cable is recognized by the destination device as external storage.
Caution
•
If the battery becomes dead during writing to or reading from the Product, data may be lost, or the
Product may malfunction. Use the AC adapter, or pay attention to the status of the battery if you
use it.
•
Should you draw out the USB cable while the Product is operating, data stored in it and the
destination device may be destroyed.
•
If using a USB hub, you may not transmit data.
Notes
•
To connect the USB cable to the Product, firmly insert it until both the pawls on the terminal sounds
like the clock.
•
For details on the method of data transmission, see the instruction manual for the destination
device you want to connect.
•
Also with the Product connected to a destination device via the USB cable, the Product is
energized.
•
The data communication speed varies with the status of a destination device, and data to be
transmitted.
Disconnecting the USB cable
When you use Windows 2000SP2/ME/XP:
On the Windows desktop, click
on the task tray located at the bottom right, then carry out operations
according to the message. After the end of operations, remove the USB cable from the personal computer
and the Product.
When you use Windows 98SE:
Switch off the personal computer, then remove the USB cable.

To remove the USB cable from the Product, carefully draw out this cable as pressing the plug's
pushbutton.
