7.1Corrosionprotection,care,maintenance
After use in salt or brackish water rinse the motor with fresh water.
Please spray the contacts about every 2 months with contact spray (e.g. Liquid Evolution
Wet Protect Nautic).
As a result of the selected materials (high quality aluminum, austenitic stainless steel)
and the electrical separation of different materials under the water surface, a sacrificial
node is not required even when operating in salt water.
The surfaces of the Travel motor can be cleaned with normal, commercial detergents.
The plastic surfaces can be treated with cockpit spray.
Except when charging the charging socket must always be covered. To do so please use
the flap provided.
After 5 years of operation the shaft sealing ring must be exchanged. Please contact an
authorized service center for this.
When carrying out service and maintenance work on the motor, always
remove the motor‘s plug connector to prevent the motor from starting
up accidentally.
7.2Caringforthebattery
You extend the lifespan of your battery if you do not expose it to hot environments for
longer than necessary. A cool ambient temperature is especially important if you store
the battery for longer periods of time.
Comply with the following rules if you are storing your battery for a longer period of
time. Storage for around six months: Charging level when stored 50 %. Storage for a
whole year: Charging level when stored 100 %. If the battery is to be stored for several
years the charging level should be checked once a year in order to prevent the battery
from deep discharging.
