1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblades(PTO).
3.Settheparkingbrake.
4.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
5.Removetheignitionkey.
6.Allowtheenginetocool.
7.Openthehood.

1.Cleanaroundtheaircleanertopreventdirtfrom
gettingintotheengineandcausingdamage.
2.Pullupontheaircleanercoverhandleandrotateit
towardtheengine(Figure22).

1.Washthefoamelementinliquidsoapandwarmwater
andrinseitthoroughly.
2.Drytheelementbysqueezingitinacleancloth.
Note:Donotoilthefoamelement.
Important:Replacethefoamelementifitistornor
worn.
PaperElement
1.Lightlytapthepaperelementonaatsurfaceto
removedustanddirt.
2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,anddamage
totherubberseal.
Important:Nevercleanthepaperelementwith
pressurizedairorliquidssuchassolvents,gasoline,or
kerosene.Replacethepaperelementifitisdamagedor
cannotbecleanedthoroughly.
InstallingtheFoamandPaperElements
Important:Topreventenginedamage,alwaysoperate
theenginewiththecompletefoamandpaperaircleaner
assemblyinstalled.
1.Placethefoamelementandpaperelementintothe
blowerhousing.
Note:Ensurethattherubbersealisatagainstthe
aircleanerbase.
