1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Disengagetheblades(PTO).
3.Settheparkingbrake.
4.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
5.Removetheignitionkey.
RemovingtheAirFilter
1.Cleanaroundtheairltercovertopreventdirtfrom
gettingintotheengineandcausingdamage.
2.TurntheknobstotheUnlockposition(Figure21).

CleaningtheAirFilter
1.Inspecttheairlterfortears,anoilylm,ordamageto
therubberseal.
2.Toloosendebris,gentlytapthelteronahardsurface.
Ifthelterisexcessivelydirty,replaceitwithanew
lter.
Important:Nevercleantheairlterwithpressurized
airorliquids,suchassolvents,gasoline,orkerosene.
Replacetheairlterifitisdamagedorcannotbe
cleanedthoroughly.
InstallingtheAirFilter
1.Installtheairlterintotheenginebaseandpushdown
untiltheltersnapsinplace.
2.Installtheairltercoverandknobs(Figure21).
3.Closethehood.
