•Forthebestperformance,operatetheengineatthe
maximumspeed.Themowerrequiresairtothoroughly
cutgrassclippings,sodonotsettheheight-of-cuttoo
loworcompletelysurroundthemowerinuncutgrass.
Alwaysleaveonesideofthemowerfreefromuncutgrass
toallowtheairtobedrawnintothemower.
•Cutthegrassslightlylongerthannormaltoensurethat
thecuttingheightofthemowerdoesnotscalpanyuneven
ground.Whencuttinggrasslongerthan15cmtall,cut
thelawntwicetoensureanacceptableappearance.
•Itisbesttocutonlyabout1/3ofthegrassbladewhen
mulching.Donotcutmorethanthatunlessthegrassis
sparseoritislatefallwhengrassgrowsmoreslowly.
•Alternatethemowingdirectiontokeepthegrassstanding
straight.Thisalsohelpsdisperseclippingsandenhances
decompositionandfertilization.
•Grassgrowsatdifferentratesatdifferenttimesofthe
season.Tomaintainthesamecuttingheight,whichis
agoodpractice,mowmoreofteninearlyspring.As
thegrassgrowthrateslowsinmidsummer,mowless
frequently.
•Ifthegrassislongerthannormal,orifitcontainsahigh
degreeofmoisture,raisethecuttingheighthigherthan
usual,cutthegrassatthatsetting,andthencutthegrass
againatthelower,normalsetting.
•Ifyoumuststopthemachinewhilemowing,youmay
leaveaclumpofgrassclippingsonyourlawn.Toavoid
this,dothefollowing:
–Engagethebladesandmovetoapreviouslycutarea.
–Dispersetheclippingsevenlybyraisingthemower1
or2height-of-cutsettingswhiledrivingforwardwith
thebladesengaged.
•Maintainsharpbladesthroughouttheseason.Sharp
bladescutgrasscleanlywithouttearingorshreddingthe
grassblades.Tearingandshreddingthegrassturnsit
brownattheedges,whichslowsitsgrowthandincreases
thechanceofdisease.Every30days,checkthebladesfor
sharpnessandledownanynicks.
