•Neveroperatethemachinewithdamagedguardsor
withoutsafetyprotectivedevicesinplace.
•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingsoroverspeed
theengine.Operatingtheengineatexcessivespeedcan
increasethehazardofpersonalinjury.
•Beforeleavingtheoperator'sposition:
–disengagethepowertakeoffandlowerthe
attachments;
–changeintoneutralandsettheparkingbrake;
–stoptheengineandremovethekey.
•Disengagedrivetoattachments,stoptheengine,and
disconnectthesparkplugwire(s)orremovetheignition
key
–beforeclearingblockagesoruncloggingthechute;
–beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingonthelawn
mower;
–afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthelawn
mowerfordamageandmakerepairsbeforestarting
andoperatingtheequipment;ifthemachinestartsto
vibrateabnormally(checkimmediately).
•Disengagedrivetoattachmentswhentransportingornot
inuse.
•Stoptheengineanddisengagedrivetoattachment
–beforefuelling;
–beforeremovingthegrasscatcher;
–beforeadjustingtheheightunlessyoucanadjustit
fromtheoperator'sposition.
•Reducethethrottlesettingduringenginerun-outand,if
theengineisprovidedwithashutoffvalve,turnthefuel
offattheconclusionofmowing.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesurethatthe
equipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
•Neverstoretheequipmentwithfuelinthetankinsidea
building,wherefumescanreachanopenameorspark.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachinein
anyenclosure.
•Toreducetherehazard,keeptheengine,silencer,
batterycompartment,andfuelstorageareafreeofgrass,
leaves,orexcessivegrease.
•Checkthegrasscatcherfrequentlyforwearor
deterioration.
•Replacewornordamagedpartsforsafety.
•Ifyoumustdrainthefueltank,doitoutdoors.
•Whenmachineistobeparked,storedorleftunattended,
lowerthecuttingmeansunlessyouareusingapositive
mechanicallock.

ThefollowinglistcontainssafetyinformationspecictoToro

•Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,whichisan
odorless,deadlypoisonthatcankillyou.Donotrunthe
engineindoorsorinanenclosedarea.
•Keepyourhands,feet,hairandlooseclothingawayfrom
attachmentdischargearea,theundersideofthemower,
andanymovingpartswhileengineisrunning.
•Donottouchtheequipmentorattachmentpartswhich
maybehotfromoperation.Allowthemtocoolbefore
attemptingtomaintain,adjust,orservicethem.
•Batteryacidispoisonousandcancauseburns.Avoid
contactwithskin,eyesandclothing.Protectyourface,
eyes,andclothingwhenworkingwithabattery.
•Batterygasescanexplode.Keepcigarettes,sparks,and
amesawayfrombattery.
•UseonlygenuineTororeplacementpartstomaintainthe
originalstandards.
•UseonlyToro-approvedattachments.Youmayvoidthe
warrantyifyouuseunapprovedattachments.
A2–postfoldableROPS(RolloverProtectionSystem)is
availableforthismachine.AROPSisrecommendedifyou
willbemowingnexttodrop-offs,nearwater,oronsteep
