ConnectingtheSafetyChainsto
theTowVehicle
Connectthesafetychaintothemachineandthetow
vehicleasfollows:
1.Pullthesafetychainthroughtheslotsinthe
keyholeslocatedinthefrontpostofthemachine,
sothatthereisjustenoughslackoneachside
forturningaroundcornerswhentowingthe
machine(Figure20).
Note:Stowtheexcesschaininsidethebottom
ofthefrontpostbypushingitintothekeyholes
andlatchingtheappropriatelinksintothe
keyholeslots.
2.Crossbothlengthsofchainunderthetowpole.
Note:Crossingthechainsdecreasesthe
chancesofthefrontofthemachinedropping
tothegroundifthehitchdoesnotholdthe
connection.

PreparingtoChangetheAxle
Width
1.Movethemachinetoaleveljob-sitesurface.
2.Disconnectthemachinefromthetowvehicle.
3.Chockthetires.
4.Ensurethatthedrumisemptyandinthemix
position(upright).
5.Ensurethatthedrumlatchisengagedand
thatthedrumdoesnotrotatetowardthedump
position.
