Aftereachbatterydraincycle
Ensurethatthechainisproperlytensioned.Aloosechainwill
shortenthelifeofthedrivesprocketandtheguidebarand
maybreakthechain.Anovertightenedchainwilloverheat
theguidebarandchain,causingrapidwearandpossible
motorburnout.Also,checkthechaintensionafterafew
cuts.Anewchainusuallystretchesandrequiresadjustment
afteritsrstuse.
Thechaintensioniscorrectwhenyouareabletouseagloved
handtopullthechainsmoothlyaroundtheguidebar.The
chainshouldremainincontactwiththebottomedgeofthe
guidebar.

Contactwiththechainsawteethcancauseserious

•Removethebatterypackbeforeadjustingor
maintainingthechainsaw.
•Alwaysweargloveswhenadjustingor
maintainingthechainsaw.

knobclockwise.
•Toloosenthechain,turnthechaintensioning
knobcounterclockwise
Adjustthechainuntilthechaintouchesthebottom
edgeoftheguidebar,thentightentheknoban
additional1/8to1/4turn.
5.Tightenthewingnutuntilitissnug(Figure29).
6.Checkthechaintension;ifthechainisloose,repeat
thisprocedure.
