Whencuttinglimbsfromastandingtree,usethe
followingpractices:
•Useawell-securedladdertoreachthehigher
areas.
•Climbintoastablepositiononaladderwithout
thechainsawandhoistthechainsawwitha
rope.
•Donotclimbonlimbsorbrancheswithachain
saw.
•Donotoverreach,andcutwithbothhandson
thechainsaw.
•Ensurethatallbystandersareawayfromthe
areawherebranchesmayfall.

thebranchtobecut.
3.Whilecuttinglargerbranches,makeashallowundercut
andthencompletethecutfromthetopsideofthe
branch.

(6inches)fromthetrunk.Cutathirdoftheway
throughthelimb.
B.Cut5.0to10.0cm(2to4inches)fartherouton
thelimbandfromabove.Cutthelimbuntilitfalls.
C.Cutaboutathirdofthediameterofthelimbstub
fromunderneathasclosetothetrunkaspossible.
D.Cutthelimbstubfromabovesothatitmeetsthe
