Operating Tips
T o reduce line w ear and impro v e trimming perfor mance , use the
follo wing tec hniques when trimming:
• R emo v e any wire , rope or string-lik e matter whic h could
become entangled in the rotating line from the trimming area.
• T rim only when the g rass and w eeds are dr y .
• Slo wly mo v e the trimmer in and out of the area being cut
( Figure 11 ).

• Cut g rass in ex cess of eight inc hes tall or w eeds from the top
to the bottom in small increments .
• Do not f orce the trimmer . Allo w the v er y tip of the line
to do the cutting .

Before each use or daily
• Clean the trimmer, especially the air intake vents
• Check the trimmer for damage and tighten all fasteners.
Daily Care
After eac h use of the trimmer , complete the follo wing:
• Wipe the trimmer clean with a damp cloth. Do not hose the
trimmer do wn or submerge it in w ater .
• Wipe or scrape clean the cutting head area any time there
is an accum ulation of debris .
• Chec k and tighten all fasteners . If any par t is damag ed or
lost, re pair or re place it.
• Br ush debris a w a y from air intak e v ents on the bac k of the
shaft to prev ent the motor from o v erheating .
