Setup
1. Loosen the knob , then mo v e the assist handle up or do wn the
shaft to y our desired height ( Figure 1 ).

2. Pi v ot the assist handle to a comfor table position ( Figure 1 ),
then tighten the knob .
3. Install the guard as sho wn in Figure 2 , snapping it into both
sides of the trimmer .

T he blade under the guard is shar p and can cut y ou.
Be car eful when handling the trimmer so that y ou do
not accidentall y cut y our self.
4. Install the metal wire guide ( Figure 3 ).

Operation
During operation, the trimmer may thr o w objects in the
operator’ s or a bystander’ s dir ection, causing injur y .
• W ear safety go g g les or other suita ble ey e pr otection,
long pants, and shoes while operating the trimmer .
• K eep bystander s a w ay fr om the w or k ar ea.
W hen the trimmer is r unning the cutting head is spinning .
If y ou contact the cutting line or cutting head, y ou could
be injur ed.
• K eep the cutting head a w ay fr om y our hands, feet,
and bystander s. K eep the guard in place and in
w or king order .
• W ear shoes and long pants when using the trimmer .
• Ensur e that the cutting head has stopped and y ou
disconnect the trimmer fr om the po w er source bef or e
y ou ser vice or examine the cutting head. Do not star t
the trimmer unless y our hands ar e on both handles
and the cutting head is do wn near the g r ound.
• Do not allo w the trimmer to cut into the cord.
Connecting to a Power Source
If y ou do not full y seat the extension cord on the inlet
plug , the loose plug could lead to o v erheating and cause a
fir e, possibl y bur ning y ou or other s.
Ensur e that y ou full y seat the cord on the plug and use the
cord lock featur e to secur e the cord.
