WAAS(WideAreaAugmentationSystem)—This
positioning-correctionsystemwasdevelopedby
theUSFederalAviationAdministrationtoserveas
anairnavigationaidbyimprovingtheaccuracy
andavailabilityoftheGPSsignals.
RTK(RealTimeKinematic)—RTKNetwork-a
groupofland-basestationsthattransmitposition
datatoaserverthroughtheinternet.GPS
guidedmachinesequippedwithRTKcorrection
exchangedatawiththeserver,transmitting
positioninformationandreceivingcorrection
informationthroughcellulardataexchanges.The
serverusesthepositiondatafromthebasestation
tocalculateposition-correctiondataandtransmits
ittothevehiclesthroughthecellularmodem.The
correctedGPSpositionprovideslocationaccuracy
between1to2cm(0.39to0.79inch)inrealtime.
GLONASS(GlobalNavigationSatelliteSystem
(RussianGNSS))—ThisallowstheGPSreceiver
tousetheRussiansatellitenavigationsystemin
additiontoGPS.
Operation
Thecomputerintheautomaticsectioncontroller
(ASC)controlsthesprayapplicationrateforvarying
vehiclespeeds.Yousetthetargetvolumeperunit
areatospray,andtheASCautomaticallymaintains
theowwithintheproperrangeofthevehiclespeed
andcontinuallydisplaystheactualvolumeofmaterial
perareasprayed.TheX25controlconsolealso
monitorstheareasprayed,thespeedofthevehicle,
andthetotalvolumeofmaterialsprayed.
Youcancongureglobalpositioningsystemoptions
fortheGeoLinksystem2ways:
SettheGPStousetheWAASwiththeRTK
correction(GPSsignalwithpositionandlocation
correctiondatatransmittedthroughacellular
modem).
SettheGPStousetheWAASonly(GPSwithno
correctiondata)forlocationandguidance.
SettingtheGeoLinksystemtousetheWAASwith
RTKcorrectionincreasesthepositioningaccuracy
oftheGeoLinkspraysystemandenablesadditional
capabilitieswiththeX25controlconsole.
