EngineInstallation(Figure21)
1.Makesurethatallpartsremovedfromtheengineduringmaintenanceor
rebuildingareinstalledtotheengine.
2.Ifremoved,installenginemountbracketstotheengineusingFigure21or
Figure26asaguide.
3.Connectliftorhoisttotheengineliftbrackets.
CAUTION
Onepersonshouldoperateliftorhoistwhileasecondpersonguides
theengineintothemachine.
IMPORTANT
Makesuretonotdamagetheengine,radiatorassembly,fuellines,
hydrauliclines,electricalwireharnessorothercomponentswhile
installingtheengine.
4.Carefullylowerengineintothemachine.Slowlymovetheengineassembly
towardthehydraulicpumpassemblytoallowthepumpinputshafttoslide
intothespringcouplerontheengineywheel.
5.Alignenginetotheenginemounts.Secureenginetoenginemountswithcap
screws,reboundwashersandangenuts.
6.Securehydraulicpumpassemblytoengine(seeGearPump(page5–97)).
7.OnmachineswithaTier4compliantengine(models30607,30609and
30636):
A.Removeliftbracketfromfrontofenginecylinderhead(item6inFigure
23).Thebracketmustberemovedbeforefueltankinstallation.Retainlift
bracketandfastenersforfutureuse.
B.Installandsecurefueltanktomachine(seeFuelSystem(page4–14)).
8.Positioncoolantreservoirwithmounttotheradiator.Securereservoirtank
mounttotheradiatorandradiatorshroudswithremovedfasteners.
9.Connectfuelsupplyandreturnhosestotheenginettings(Figure23or
Figure24).
10.OnGroundsmaster4010−Dmachines:
A.Installairconditioningcompressortocompressormount(seeAir
ConditioningCompressor(page10–5)).Makesurethatdrivebeltis
properlytensioned.
B.Connectcoolanthosestottingsonenginewaterange.
11.Connectwiresand/orelectricalconnectionstoenginelocations.
A.Theenginewireharnessfromthemachinewireharness.
B.Thepositivebatterycablefromtheenginestartermotor(Figure22).
C.Thefusiblelinkharnessfromthemainwireharness(Figure22).
D.Thenegativebatterycableattheengineblock(Figure22).
12.CarefullyconnectenginewireharnessconnectortoengineECU.
13.Installandsecureexhaustbracket(item13inFigure21oritem6inFigure
26)andexhaustpipe(item16inFigure21)fromengine.
