SootAccumulation
Ifthetypesofregenerationthatareperformedautomatically(whilethemachine
isoperating)arebypassedornotallowedtocompletebeforeshuttingoffthe
engine,sootwillcontinuetoaccumulateinthesootlter.Whenenoughsoot
accumulates,theengineECUwillgenerateanenginefaulttopromptaparkedor
recoveryregeneration.InadditiontoanenginefaultappearingontheInfoCenter,
theengineoutputpowerwillbereduced.
AshAccumulation
Ashisaresultoftheregenerationprocesses.Thelighterashisdischarged
throughtheexhaustsystem,whiletheheavierashcollectsinthesootlter.
Whenenoughashaccumulatesinthesootlter,theengineECUwillgeneratean
enginefaulttopromptservicingtheDPF .Inadditiontoanenginefaultappearing
ontheInfoCenter,theengineoutputpowerandspeedwillbereduced.
