ReplacingtheHydraulicFilter
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst8hours
Every400hours
Important:Donotsubstituteanautomotiveoillteror
severehydraulicsystemdamagemayresult.
Changethehydrauliclteraftertherst8operatinghours
andthenevery400operatinghoursthereafter.
1.Positiontractionunitonalevelsurface.
2.Raisetheloaderarmsandinstallthecylinderlocks,
stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
3.Placeadrainpanunderthelter.
4.Removetheoldlter(
Figure35)andwipethesurface
ofthelteradaptergasketclean.

5.Applyathincoathydraulicuidtotherubbergasket
onthereplacementlter(Figure35).
6.Installthereplacementhydrauliclterontothelter
adapter(Figure35).Tightenitclockwiseuntilthe
rubbergasketcontactsthelteradapter,thentighten
thelteranadditional1/2turn.
7.Cleanupanyspilleduid.
8.Starttheengineandletitrunforabouttwominutesto
purgeairfromthesystem.
9.Stoptheengineandcheckforleaks.
WARNING
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.Fluidinjected
intotheskinmustbesurgicallyremoved
withinafewhoursbyadoctorfamiliarwith
thisformofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrom
pinholeleaksornozzlesthatejecthigh
pressurehydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks,neveruseyourhands.
10.Checktheuidlevelinthehydraulictank(referto
CheckingtheHydraulicFluidLevel(page16))andadd
uidtoraisetheleveltomarkondipstick.Donotover
llthetank.
11.Removeandstorethecylinderlocksandlowerthe
loaderarms.

•IfneitheroftheaboveTorouidsareavailable,
youmayuseanotherUniversalTractorHydraulic
Fluid(UTHF),buttheymustbeonlyconventional,
petrolium-basedproducts.Thespecicationsmustfall
withinthelistedrangeforallofthefollowingmaterial
propertiesandtheuidshouldmeetthelistedindustry
standards.Checkwithyouroilsuppliertodetermineif
theoilmeetsthesespecications.
