3 Installing the Gauge Parts needed for this procedure: 1 Fuel gauge 1 Grommet 1 Rubber lubricant Procedure 1. Slide the grommet onto the fuel gauge. Ensure that the grommet is above the float as shown in Figure 1. Note: If you install the grommet into the tank first, the fuel-gauge float may not slip through the grommet. 2.
