StorageSafety
Shutoffthemachine,removethekey(ifequipped),
andwaitforallmovementtostopbeforeyouleave
theoperatorsposition.Allowthemachinetocool
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
StoringtheMachine
ServiceInterval:Every200hours—Inspectthe
serviceandparkingbrakes.
Every400hours—Visuallyinspectthebrakes
forwornbrakeshoes.
Aftertherst50hours
Every600hours/Yearly(whichevercomesrst)
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,and
removethekey.
2.Cleandirtandgrimefromtheentiremachine,
includingtheoutsideoftheengine.
3.Inspectthebrakes;refertoAdjustingtheParking
Brake(page48).
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page37).
5.Sealtheair-cleanerinletandtheexhaustoutlet
withweatherprooftape.
6.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingthe
BearingsandBushings(page35).
7.Changetheengineoil;refertoServicingthe
EngineOil(page38).
8.Flushthefueltankwithfresh,cleanfuel.
9.Secureallfuelsystemttings.
10.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page18).
11.Removethebatteryfromthechassis,check
theelectrolytelevel,andchargeitfully;referto
ServicingtheBattery(page43).
Note:Donotconnectthebatterycablestothe
batterypostsduringstorage.
Important:Thebatterymustbefully
chargedtopreventitfromfreezingandbeing
damagedattemperaturesbelow0°C(32°F).
Afullychargedbatterymaintainsitscharge
forabout50daysattemperatureslower
than4°C(40°F).Ifthetemperatureswillbe
above4°C(40°F),checkthewaterlevelinthe
batteryandchargeitevery30days.
12.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamaged.
13.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.

14.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea.
15.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
