Neveradjustthereliefvalvewiththehydraulic
systempressurized.Hydraulicoilmayspray
outofthevalvewiththecapoff.Personalinjury
mayresult.Alwaysinstallthecapandtighten
beforepressurizingthesystem.
1.Onrearsideofmanifold,removecapfromthe
reliefvalvewithanallenwrench(Figure10).

Note:An1/8-turnoftheadjustmentsocketis
about50psi,or1turnisabout400psi.
2.Toincreasepressuresetting,turntheadjustment
socketinsidethevalve1/8ofaturnclockwise.
3.Todecreasepressuresetting,turnthe
adjustmentsocketinsidethevalve1/8ofaturn
counter-clockwise.
4.Installandtightencaptovalve.Retestpressure
setting(3000psimaximum)
5.Disengagethatcherunits.Shutoffengine.
6.Disconnecttesterfrommanifoldandhose.
Reconnecthosetothepump.
7.Whencuttingunitsarereinstalled,reliefvalve
settingcanremainat3000psi.
Donotexceed3000psireliefvalvepressure.
Personalinjurymayresultfromleakingoil.

Thedethatchingunitisshippedfromthefactory
with1/2”spacingbetweenblades.Usingdifferent
combinationsof1/4”thickspacers(ToroPartNo.
17–1600)and3/4”thickspacers(ToroPartNo.
82–6600)bladespacingsof1/2”,3/4”,1”or1–1/4”
canbeattained.

Operatethetractionunitatfullthrottlevarying
groundspeedtomeetdethatchingloads.
Maximumrecommendednegativesettingonthe
dethatcherbladesis1/4”deeppenetration.
Powerrequirementstooperatethedethatcherunits
willvarywithturfandsoilconditions.Travelspeed
mayneedtobereducedinsomeconditions.
