A.PrecautionsforHydraulicTesting
Failuretousegaugeswithrecommended
pressure(psi)ratingaslistedintestprocedures
couldresultindamagetothegaugeand
possiblepersonalinjuryfromleakinghotoil.
Alltestingshouldbeperformedby2people.
Onepersonshouldbeintheseattooperatethe
machine,andtheothershouldreadandrecord
testresults.
Operateallhydrauliccontrolstorelievesystem
pressureandavoidinjuryfrompressurized
hydraulicoil.Controlsmustbeoperatedwith
theignitionswitchinRUNandtheengine
OFF .ReturnignitionswitchtoOFFwhen
pressurehasbeenrelieved.Removekeyfrom
theignitionswitch.
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganywork
onthehydraulicsystem,allpressureinthe
systemmustberelievedbystoppingtheengine
andloweringorsupportingthecuttingunits
orotherimplements.
Keepbodyandhandsawayfrompinhole
leaksornozzlesthatejecthydraulicuidunder
highpressure.Donotusehandstosearchfor
leaks;usepaperorcardboard.Hydraulicuid
escapingunderpressurecanhavesufcient
forcetopenetratetheskinandcauseserious
injury.Ifuidisinjectedintotheskin,it
mustbesurgicallyremovedwithinafewhours
byadoctorfamiliarwiththistypeofinjury.
Gangrenemayresultfromsuchaninjury.
1.Thoroughlycleanthemachinebeforedisconnecting
ordisassemblinganyhydrauliccomponents.Always
keepinmindtheneedforcleanlinesswhenworking
onhydraulicequipment.Contaminationwillcause
excessivewearofcomponents.
2.Putcapsorplugsonanyhydrauliclinesleftopenor
exposedduringtestingorremovalofcomponents.
3.Theenginemustbeingoodoperatingcondition.
Useatachometerwhenmakingahydraulictest.
Enginespeedcanaffecttheaccuracyofthetester
readings.
4.Theinletandtheoutlethosesmustbeproperly
connectedandnotreversed(testerwithpressure
andowcapabilities)topreventdamagetothe
hydraulictesterorcomponents.
B.ManifoldReliefValvePressure
Check
1.Makesurehydraulicoilisatnormaloperating
temperaturebyoperatingthemachinefor
approximately10minutes.
2.Makesuremachineisparkedonalevelsurfacewith
thecuttingunitslowered.Makesureengineisoff
andtheparkingbrakeisengaged.
3.ReadPrecautionsforHydraulicTesting.
4.Disconnecthoseconnectiononthebulkheadthat
leadstotheleftreelmotorinletport.
5.Disconnectthehoseconnectionatthegearpump
thatleadstothePortP1,identiedonthebottom
ofhydraulicmanifold.
6.Installtesterinserieswiththehoseandbulkhead
connection.Makesuretheowcontrolvalveis
fullyopen.
7.ConnectT-connectorandgaugetothettingand
hoseconnectionatthegearpump.
8.Ifabacklapkitisinstalled,makesurebacklapknob
onthevalveblockisinthemowposition.Make
surereelspeedknobissettomaximum.
Keepawayfromreelsduringtesttoprevent
personalinjuryfromtherotatingreelblades.
9.Startengineandmovethrottletofullspeed.Engage
thecuttingunits.
10.Watchpressuregaugecarefullywhileslowlyclosing
theowcontrolvalvetofullyclosed.Ifpressure
gaugedoesnotread3000psi,shutoffengineand
adjustreliefvalve.ProceedtoAdjustingManifold
