mountingsurface(Figure86).
3.Lubricatetheltergasketwithcleanlubricating
engineoil.Refertotheengineoperator's
manual,includedwiththemachine,foradditional
information.
4.Installthedryltercanister,byhand,untilthe
gasketcontactsthelterhead,thenrotateitan
additional1/2turn.
5.Starttheengineandcheckforfuelleaksaround
thelterhead.

andConnections
ServiceInterval:Every400hours(oryearly,
whichevercomesrst).
Checkthefuellinesandconnectionsfordeterioration,
damage,orlooseconnections.
FuelPick-upTubeScreen
Thefuelpick-uptube,locatedinsidethefueltank,is
equippedwithascreentohelppreventdebrisfrom
enteringthefuelsystem.Removethefuelpick-up
tubeandcleanscreenasrequired.
ElectricalSystem
Maintenance
Important:Beforeweldingonthemachine,
disconnectbothcablesfromthebattery,bothwire
harnessplugsfromtheelectroniccontrolmodule,
andtheterminalconnectorfromthealternatorto
preventdamagetotheelectricalsystem.
ElectricalSystemSafety
•Disconnectthebatterybeforerepairingthe
machine.Disconnectthenegativeterminalrst
andthepositivelast.Connectthepositiveterminal
rstandthenegativelast.
•Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.

andchecktheconditionofit(or
weekly,whichevercomesrst).
Every50hours—Checkthebattery-cable
connections.

•Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoidcontact

•Fillthebatterywherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.

Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthat
canexplode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparks
andamesawayfromit.
Keeptheterminalsandtheentirebatterycaseclean
becauseadirtybatterydischargesslowly.Toclean
thebattery,washtheentirecasewithasolutionof
bakingsodaandwater.Rinseitwithclearwater.
