•Nevertamperwithsafetydevices.Checktheir
properoperationregularly.
•Keepmachinefreeofgrass,leaves,orother
debrisbuild-up.Cleanupoilorfuelspillageand
removeanyfuel-soakeddebris.Allowmachineto
coolbeforestoringinanenclosedspace.
•Nevermakeanyadjustmentsorrepairswiththe
enginerunning.Disconnectthesparkplugwire
andgroundagainstenginetopreventunintended
starting.
•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingor
overspeedtheengine.
•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,
asnecessary.
•Ifgasolineisspilled,donotattempttostartthe
enginebutmovethemachineawayfromthe
areaofspillageandavoidcreatinganysourceof
ignitionuntilthegasolinevaporhasdissipated.
•Replacefaultysilencers.
•Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethat
theblade,boltsandspacersarenotwornor
damaged.Replaceawornordamagedblade.
•Stopthebladeifthemachinehastobetiltedfor
transportationwhencrossingsurfacesotherthan
grass,andwhentransportingthemachinetoand
fromtheareatobemowed.
•Neverpickuporcarryamachinewhiletheengine
isrunning.
•Stoptheengineanddisconnectthesparkplug
wire,makesurethatallmovingpartshavecome
toacompletestop:
–Beforeclearingblockages.
–Beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingonthe
machine.
–Afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthe
machinefordamageandmakerepairsbefore
restartingandoperatingthemachine.
–Ifthemachinestartstovibrateabnormally.
–Wheneveryouleavethemachine.
–Beforerefueling.
•Usecarewhencheckingtheblades.Wrapthe
bladeorweargloves,andusecautionwhen
servicingthem.
•Keephandsandfeetawayfrommovingparts.If
possible,donotmakeadjustmentswiththeengine
running.
•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransportingthe
machine.Donotfuelnearopenames,anddo
notdrainfuelindoors.
•Parkthemachineonlevelground.Neverallow
untrainedpersonneltoservicethemachine.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringinany
enclosure.
•Replacewornordamagedpartsforsafety.
•Ifthefueltankhastobedrained,thisshouldbe
doneoutdoors.Thedrainedfuelshouldbestored
inacontainerspecicallydesignedforfuelstorage
oritshouldbedisposedofcarefully.
•Starttheenginecarefullyaccordingtothe
Operator’sManualandwithfeetawayfromthe
cuttingelements.
•Alwayswearearprotection.
•Whentiltingthemachinetostarttheengine,do
nottiltitmorethanabsolutelynecessaryandlift
onlythepartwhichisawayfromtheoperator.
•Examinethetrimmerregularlyandreplacewornor
damagedpartsforsafety.UseonlyT orogenuine
spareparts.
